Gameplay Programmer - 2021/2023

Context:

I joined Wild Sheep Studio for my final year internship in May 2021, as a Gameplay Programmer.


During my internship (6 months), I started by making gameplay prototypes under the supervision of the Game Designers to familiarize myself with the studio's tech, before entering the production loop.


I then worked there for 2 years, in a team of several Gameplay Programmers, working mainly with the Game Designers and Producers, but also with the rest of the team (Animation, Art, Sound, QA).

Skills acquired:

  • Working in a multidisciplinary team.

  • Development methodology (Requirement, Proposal, Development, Review, Test, Implementation).

  • Team communication.

  • Improved level of English through regular practice.

  • Take initiative and responsibility (Feature ownership, etc.).

  • Improved programming skills (C++, Scripting).

Personal achievements:

  • Prototypes.

  • 3C Features.

  • AI Features.

  • Creation of Gameplay Elements (Toys).

  • UI creation and implementation.

  • Quest System creation.

  • Code Archeology and update of an old gameplay feature.
